Wal-Mart Wrongful Termination

Hello,
I had worked for Wal-Mart for 7 years, in till just recently I was terminated on January 4. I feel as though I was set-up by Wal-Mart. I was told that a customer file a complaint about me and only me over hearing a private and very discrete conversation with another associate and was a new associate asking me questions about how to work with customers in general. Apparently a customer was ease dropping on our conversation. The customer felt the conversation was directed towards him. The new associate told me that he was called into the office by an assistant manager on January 4 and also was asked about the customer complaint on December 17 about me. The new associate said to me that he told the assistant manager that he could not recall any such incident.

I was called into the office after that by an assistant manager on January 4 about incident that happened on December 17 and a complaint that was filed about me. I was unaware about the complaint until January 4. The assistant manager asked what happened on December 17, I told the assistant manger I knew nothing of any incident that happened on that day. The assistant manager said, the complaint stated that I had called a man a witch. I was asked again what happened on December 17, and I told the assistant manger that did not call any man a witch and furthermore, I would not say anything like that to a customer. Again the assistant manger asked me again what happened on December 17. I replied with the same answer, I knew nothing of this incident. This went on for about 30 minutes. I felt like I was being interrogated by the assistant manager. The assistant manager did not believe that this complaint really happened either. So after 30 minutes I was asked to sign a form stating that I was being terminated for gross misconduct. I refuse to sign the form because I knew it was false.

I made an appointment to talk with the store manager about my termination. The store manager told me that the complaint was written up incorrectly and it was not gross misconduct, it was just a mister meaner. The store manage said that he would go and change it on my record from gross misconduct to just a mister meaner. The store manager also said, there was nothing on my record regarding of having any issue like this ever. The store manager said that my record was clean. The store manager, he himself did not believe this complaint. The store manager believes that this was a false complaint against me. The store manager said because it went to home office his hands were tied.

The store manage also said, that if the complaint had not gone to home office that he could have dealt with the incident or complaint internally. The store manager also said that I was a hard working person and was a lead associate for the department I worked in. The store manage also said, that he would make it so that I could be rehired again in six weeks. The store manager also said that he would hire me back in a heartbeat, but I would have to start all over again at minimum wage. The store manager took me aside and said Sue, I encourage you to fight this and take it as far as you can go with it and the store manage also stated that he would back me up on this. He told me to call the district managers office.

I did call the district office and was told that I needed to speak with the Human Recourse Marketing Manager. I did speak with the HR marketing manager, and explained what had happened. I was told that the HR. Marketing manger would call me back and he never did. I would call the office and the secretary would send an email to have the HR marketing manager call me back. It never happened.

I was told that my record would be fixed from gross negligence to just a mister meaner and it was not.
I was told that I could re-apply for a job at Wal-Mart after 6 weeks, but I would start back at $7.50 an hour from the $10.64 that I was making an hour. It took me 7 years to earn that hourly wage.

I truly believe Wal-Mart was looking for a way to get rid of me after I had two surgeries for cancer.
Two weeks prior to my termination, an associate that had been with Wal-Mart for 15 years was also terminated for wrongful termination.

I have never worked for a company who treated me so poorly. I feel I was treated poorly because I am a woman.

If you are looking for a job do go to Wal-Mart.

Can I go after Wal-Mart Wrongful Termination?

I am looking for a lawyer that could help me with this.
