Took $831.66 out my checking account without notice or authorization 2 weeks before xmas

After having Direct tv for my tv service for 9 months, I decided that I did not want to continue to have their services anymore. We live in a stormy area of the state od south carolina, we were always losing service, not to mention, our satelite dishes were installed on the ground and did not seem to work as well on the ground as they did in our other house, where they were installed on the roof. So, after running into financial hardships after a seperation, direct tv shut off my service after I advised them that I could not afford to have their service right now. I asked them to send me a final bill and boxes to ship the direct tv equipment back to them so I was not charged for it. This request was put in back in October. Finally, on December 10th, I recieved 2 boxes to ship out the equipment but still no final bill. On December 12th, after I advised my landlord to go to the bank and deposit my rent check for $1100.00, I checked my bank account online and saw that direct tv was doing an unauthorized autodraft for $831.66 without my consent. I quickly called my landlord to let him know that he needed to wait until i figured out what was going on. SO, when I called direct tv, they were of no help to me, they told me that since I signed a contract last year in december to recieve service from their compnay, that direct tv was allowed to go into my bank account and withdraw money if I owed to them. I was unaware of this type of business and looked through my records, I did not find anything like this contract, the only contract I found is a contract saying that the equipment I had was rented and needed to be returned in case of disconnection. So, I told them the equipment would be shipped out as soon as possible and that I needed the charge to be reversed, they said they could not do that until all of the erquipment was recieved and processed. I told my bak what was going on as well and they told me that there was nothing that they could do at this time and that I had to fight direct tv for the money back. On December 15th, I finally received my final bill, afetr the fact of the money already being deducted form my account anyway. On December 19th, I went on fedex.com and tracked the packages that were sent to their office, they recieved them on friday morning at 10:24 am, so I called them to see how long it was going to take to atleast get the money back to into my account of the equipment; we calculated it to be $450 that they owed me after the cancel fee, the past due bill and taxes. So, they told me that first it takes 8 to 10 weeks to credit my account and that they have no way to credit my checking account. How do they have no way to credit my account, when they had a way to go in there and take the money out of there in the first place? Then the man in the resoltions department told me that he would expedite the process and try to get the money back to me in my checking account by monday the 22nd. When I called this morning to see when I would see it in my account, another man from the same department told me that the fastest they could refund the money would be 8 business days from today. So, here I am, single mom of 4, working to make ends meet, going to college to better my life and my childrens lives, could only pay half of my rent this month, and to top it all off, 3 days from christmas with no presents for any of the kids, and no money for the presents considering now I have to come up with the other half of my rent somehow... All thanks to direct tv for no help whatsoever.
