I signed up for DirecTV in May '08, responding to an ad and a discount listed on my area AAA membership site for an additional $10 per month, plus upgrade to a 2nd receiver free. The billing has been incorrect since day one.
I have called "Customer Disservice" 9 times. Each time they gave me a different excuse, said they'd fix the billing, etc. This has not happened.
I am being overcharged and now they are adding late fees. I have been paying the agreed upon amount of $29.99 each month.
Each customer rep. Has promised me things would be fixed. Then, about the 6th call, they said I hadn't used a special number for AAA clients. No such number was listed on the AAA website; and the DirecTV rep. Acknowledged that it wasn't listed as a requirement. But this one said if I called the special number she gave me, that the bill would be fixed. I did; and the person at that number said I couldn't get the discount because I didn't call them before setting up the account!
When I finally got totally fed up with being lied to jerked around and sent on a never ending round of various telephone numbers to call (which didn't resolve my issues) I reported them to the LA Better Business Bureau. They had the nerve to say I wasn't getting the agreed upond discount because I didn't call the "special number" for AAA members.
Two things: I have since received flyers advertising a rate of $29.99. And, I am disabled and in pain every single day. My doctor says stress is my worst enemy; but these "people" have caused me nothing but. I'm going to the Attorney General's office and anywhere else I can think of.
