Update: I previously wrote a complaint regarding the Verizon / Directv bundling service I signed up for to receive a $10 a month discount for 24 months off my bill. I was and still am horrified by the lack of customer service skills and knowledge on the part of Directv's customer service representatives. I still stand by the fact that Directv's bundling department agent provided me with incorrect and misleading information. I was told that the discount would be taken off of my Directv's bill and not Verizon's bill. This was all taken care of and explained in detail to me with a call I made to Verizon this morning. Directv failed to explain that the discount could not become effective until I moved their services to my new residence. I am in transition from one state to another and am just now having my furniture moved to the new residence this week. However, Directv was made aware of this and thus the service is still on at the old residence. Since Directv is difficult to communicate with, I will wait until my furniture and TVs are at the new residence before I have the service transferred. This is to prevent further problems with Directv. The bottom line is that the initial complaint I wrote to measured up could have been avoided if Directv's customer service department had been knowledgeable about what was going on. Verizon's customer service representative resolved the situation and has indicated that I will receive the $10 a month discount from them rather than Directv. Hopefully, my experience and headache will be of help to other consumers and this is why I am updating the complaint. I still rate Directv the same.
