My husband was lured into buying magazines at a price of $35 every 3 years because of this deal he won a gas card through a sweepstakes. He was dumb enough to give out his debit card number and they charged him once. Then, he didn't want the service anymore and they said "Okay, it's cancelled. You will only get the set of magazines which you paid for."
So, then I called today asking when the magazines were coming in. They said 8-12 weeks. So, I was like "But, the account is cancelled right?" And the woman said, "No, it's just paid in full." So then I was thinking this company sucks. Then, I said "But, my husband cancelled it and they were just going to give him a set of magazines." Then, she tells me that it's paid in full and we wouldn't be getting charged anymore and will be receiving all of the year's magazines within 8-12 weeks or sooner from now on.
Tell me, what sounds right in this scenario? There were many different excuses as how this account is still active and how it will be paid. If they were legit, they would only stick to one story and not tell me different things each call. Plus, the customer service people did not sound friendly or mature. I tell you, if they charge us once more, my Husband is getting JAG on their a* and we'll see who laughs last.
