In I hired Travelers Tax Group to handle my tax problem with Internal Revenue Service. They qouted me a price of $3500.00 dollars to settle my account with IRS. They asked for certain information that was required which I sent them as needed.
They supposedly completed the paperwork and demanded payment in full prior to sending me the required paperwork that I needed to send to IRS. I was able to come up with $3100.00 which had been sent to them in $400 and $500 dollar increments. I had to have certain paperwork noterized and had sent them this requirement by certified mail.
I never received this confirmation from the post office, so I called the postal inspector to complain. This went on for 3-4 months.
In the interim, IRS levied my accounts, and wanted to lein my house. I felt Travelers was hiding something, (I didn't know what at that point).
In correspondence with IRS, it became possible to deal with IRS directly. So I submitted an Offer In Compromise (OIC) which was denied because of the low figure I offered. With an attitude of negoiating a settlement, we finally reached a conclusion in March with IRS.
I have never heard from Travelers since, Now when I try the phone number, some other company answers, meaning the number has rotated to a new customer.
I am out the $3100.00 dollars I have paid this company. I would appreciate any resolution you could offer.
