I made reservations to stay at the Victorian Charm Inn about a month in advance. I received a confirmation number and my credit card details were taken to hold the reservation. When I attempted to check into the Inn, I was told by the proprietor, "I don't have rooms for you." He explained that he runs credit cards used to hold rooms on the day of the guest's scheduled arrival "to make sure they are serious about coming." My card was declined and my reservation for two rooms was given to someone else. I had never been told of this their policy. I tried to explain that I had experienced identity theft/fraudulent activity on my credit card account about a week prior to my arrival and my account had been closed. The proprietor wasn't interested in discussing the situation, made no effort to help me and my family find a place to stay and threw the declined credit card receipt at me and told us to get out. When we tried to discuss the situation, he called 911. It was truly the worst treatment I have ever experienced while traveling. We finally found rooms at the Best Western down the street. The ladies working at reception informed us we were the third group to experience this kind of treatment from the Victorian Charm Inn in the last few days.
