I was a valued dish network member for the 2002 year, in December I relocated my family from Georgia to Massachusetts. At that time, we had to cancel our account. When we tried to cancel, they tried to stack almost $300.00 dollars in fees due to early cancellation, although we were making the one year sign on agreement by 1 day.
After fighting for three weeks, I finally got someone who was smart enough to realize that these fees were inappropriate. At that time, they advised that they would be shipping boxes for us to pack the equipment in and return. It would take 3 wks. We had them ship them to our MA home as we would already be here by then. When they arrived, we packed the boxes and placed them by the back door. There they have sat as we have continually called and asked them to send someone to get them. It has been a month.
This evening when we checked our account online, we learned that Dish Network, against our permission, drafted over $600.00 from our account, leaving us with less than $23.00 for the next two weeks to feed our family of four. When I contacted them the women on the phone felt it was humorous that I was pleading for them to return my money. They have refused to return my money and advised me to write my congressman in a very snide manner. I am going to report them to every agency I can think of.
