In response to a radio ad, I called NADN. I was rushed through a high-pressure sales pitch, but was told, as a member, I would receive tax advice and reading materials that they said would be helpful to people who want to run their own business. They also told me if I signed up and changed my mind about becoming a member within a 72 hour period, I would receive my money back in full. I was told they would be sending me a "member" information packet.
After reviewing the materials they sent to me, I was not satisfied that their services would actually be useful. Per instructions I was given in my telephone contact with NADN, I called to cancel my membership and requested my money back, a refund of $810.95.
I followed all of the instructions they gave me, writing a code number on the packaged materials I returned to them (at my expense). I later called to confirm they received the package, which they said had been received. I was told my money would be refunded to me at that time, back in July!!
Since then, I have contacted NADN numerous times and still have not received my refund. I have been waiting for OVER 5 MONTHS for my refund. I continue to call on a regular basis asking for the status of my refund. I am told my refund will be issued to me within the "next few days" and that the matter is being handled by their Accounting Department, but they do not allow me to speak with anyone in Accounting.
Their Customer Service Manager, who goes by first name Chris, has been atrociously rude, while providing me with absolutely NO assistance and NO information on the status of my refund. He continues to tell me it is being handled by Accounting AND that I am NOT allowed to speak with any personnel in Accounting for assistance.
It is now apparent that NADN is a scam operation. They keep your money even after membership is foregone and a refund is requested according to the terms they've even outlined. As for membership, every time Ive called the separate "Member Services" line, I wait on hold and eventually end up in some anonymous voicemail-box. Yet, this is the phone line they offer to their members?! Ive left my name & number numerous times on that line, with never a returned phone call.
This company is a fraud! I do not understand how a company that conducts such illegitimate and illegal business practices (such as what has happened to me and to so many others) can possibly remain in business with the consent of its city, government and surrounding communities?!!
Unfortunately, they continue to advertise on our local radio stations, continuing their fraudulent enterprising and ripping off even more innocent people. The RADIO and MEDIA networks that support NADNs advertising ALSO need to be held accountable for giving NADN the opportunity to commit criminally deceptive practices against their audience members.
I encourage media audience members to voice your experiences and complaints about NADN to your local media stations, as well as other media regulatory agencies, so they may also become aware of the hazards they are offering audience members with NADN's advertising and sales campaigns.
I also encourage media managers to strongly consider the serious implications involved in maintaining ANY type of supportive advertising relationship with NADN. Do you really want to drag your station into the mud right along next to NADN?
