My husband and I bought a male english bulldog puppy from D&A Kennels in Brooklyn Ny. They shipped the puppy by airplane to us in Texas. The puppy arrived at the airport sick. We took puppy to the Vet the next day, our vet put him on some antibiotics for what he thought might be rales in his lungs.
After two weeks of medication he was not better. Took back to Vet, he did an xray and discovered that his trachea was to small for him and thought it had collapsed. Vet set us up for surgery two days later, and the puppy died during surgery. Vet said even if he came through the surgery he would have had a very short life anyways... He would never be able to breathe normal.
Dawn and Antone of D&A Kennels offer a four year congenital health guarantee with their dogs as long as you provide a vet approved written statement of facts. We spoke to Antone the day the puppy died and he told us to fax the Vet report to him to look at. We did this and after several days he never responded.
We notified Antone that we would seek legal advise on how to file a lawsuit against him, he finally responded and told us that wouldn't be necessary and that they would send us another puppy the following week. The following week came and went and still no puppy. They will not return our calls and they have not sent us a new puppy or our money back.
We are having to sue them now to get our money back. I would really consider staying away from this kennel if you are looking to buy a puppy. I have noticed that there is another 2 reports on the same kennel.
