Shipping catastrophe, company never delivered item and won't reimburse for trouble

I have used UPS previously over 20 times shipping items overnight. I shipped two gift cards over night to an ebay customer for the value of 511.00 on 06/18/08. I checked the website and the tracking information showed the item being delivered to customer's front door.

A couple of days later customer emails me and says that the package was never received. I had to do a claim with UPS. I contacted UPS after receiving a phone call from the claims department. I spoke with a Pam who said sorry there is nothing we can do about your shipment. I for corporate number another supervisor came on the line a Fredda Halbert. She also stated that nothing could be done for their company's mistake because gift cards are not covered under their policies and to ship the item would be at the customer's risk. I was very upset about this because now I am out of 500.00 dollars.

But the worst part was that the company offered no appeasement for their actions. Nothing! No credit for the shipping cost for the item that never came, nothing, and I have been a very good customer to this company. Always read the fine print this company are theives.
