I tried to switch from Comcast cable to Direct TV, but they wouldn't accept my business because my first name is only an initial. Here is what their customer service rep wrote to my complaint about this STUPID policy:
Thank you for writing us. When ordering your DIRECTV service it is requested you provide your full name. Our system will accept a first name with a minimum of 2 letters not including special characters such as (., &).

I guess Direct TV has so much business they can turn away customers for silly reason such as their first name doesn't have enough letters!
