I filed for bankruptcy almost 2 years ago and was offered
A "chance to re-establish" my credit with a card from
Fcnb.in the almost 2 years that i ha that card i was
Late paying them twice. When i say late i mean days. The
First time i has mailed them a check which was received
By them on the due date - they proceeded to charge me a
35.00 late fee because even though they received my
Payment on its due date it was considered late because
They has to received and had cashed that check by the due
Date in oreder for it to have been considered on-time.
The second time i was late was a total lapse of memory
Regarding the payment a young lady called me and i gave
Her the payment over the phone via check for 136.00. I
Was lead to believe that this would take care of any late
Charges etc. Well within days of making that phone
Payment i received a letter from a collection agency
Stating that my account was referred to them for
Collection and that on my credit report it was going to
State that i was 60 days past due.
If that was not enough i later received a statement from
Fcnb showing a charge for a "credit protection fee."
(protecting my credit line that was closed by them) i
Called them and they told me that they would continue to
Bill me this "fee" to even though the card is considered
Closed. The only way they stop is by receiving a letter
To end the service.
I just want your readers to be very leary of these so
Called credit rebuilders. Because i was screwed.
