My husband was being transfered from Ct. To Cape Cod for his job. We hired United Moving Sysems in July 07. On 7-20-07 we recieved an e-mail from Max with a price quote of 1309.01 to move us, so we went ahead with the them. We had them come on 8-2-07 they arrived late, we had allready packed the small stuff in boxes so we did not need them to pack for us, except for a few little things, and we did that while they were there. (most of it) When they got there they had a small truck. I was concerned about our things fitting but they said it would. There were 4 men so it should have been an easy move with most of the house allready being packed, but it turned out to be a disaster, one of the men wanted to go home to New York half way through the loading and kept complaining he was hungry, so I warmed some leftovers in the microwave and my husband went to McDonalds and paid to feed them. So after putting as much as they could on the truck we had to leave about 1/4 of our things in Ct. On the way to Ma. They pulled off on the hyway so I pulled off too because I was following them, they said they needed gas, while there a Ma. State Police man stopped, (heres the fun) Well the police officer was checking them out and asked me where they were from I told him what I knew and that we hired them to move us. The policeman told me the driver did not have a valid lic. And one of them was elegal in the US. He was not going to let them go. Another officer came and I was getting scared because my things were on that truck and it was late. The police finally let them go because he said he did not want to hold me up any longer so he would let them go, So we were on our way again, When we finally got to the house they told us it would be about twice the amount quoted and they wanted cash. We didn't have that much cash on us and they would not unload the truck untill they got cash. When we worked it out. And they unloaded the truck they threw things in my house so badly and just droped boxes and furniture they broke things and ruined an antique dresser by putting tape around it when I took the tape off it took the finish off and left a sticky residue. I found that they had taken my jewelry too. 2 seperate small boxes from my overnite bag. I have tried to contact these people since our move in Aug. But have only been able to get them once. And was told that I needed an email address in order to file a claim, So as soon as I got my internet service hooked up I tried to get them ageain and have not been able to. There phone # does not work and there email is also not good. I have found out that they had there lic. Revoked in June 07 and they are not in buissness. I know I will never get my jewelry back but I0 want to be reembursed for it and i think they should pay for my furniture they ruined and the things they broke and the over charge of 1390.00 dollars.
