Last week i went into my local Wal-Mart to purchase a few things. I went to the self serve check out lane and proceded to check out. After entering my debit card and PIN number the large screen said error message. And the lane shut down and the register shut off.

A supervisor came over and re-opened the register and said that my transaction was voided. At that point all of my items had to be rescanned and i then swipped my debit card agian. I asked the supervisor again if she was sure that the first transaction was voided and she assured me that i would only be charged once.

Well 2 days later I got a notice from my bank that i bounced a check, something I have never done before. I went to my local office and found out that the Wal-Mart purchase went through twice. I immeditly headed over to Wal-Mart.

After waiting and waiting for an assistant manager to come over he then called the accounting manager againI had to wait while they researched the problem. After about 1/2 hour they found the mistake and called my bank to refund me my service fee for the bounce check, then they refunded me back the money that was taken from my account.

However they never appologiged for thier mistake, they tried to blame the bank, not their register that broke down in the middle of my purchase. They never appolgiged for me waisting my time to resolve this matter, nor for the bounced check they caused, now i look bad to the person i wrote the check to and have to pay them fees.
