Went to Wal Mart wrote a check and the teller did not return my check. About 9 minutes after I left the store a debit for 479.34 was processed through their electronic system. No check actual exist. The bank has verified that the check number that was used does not exist. We found that the number they used is a store number. I call police got a police report and then went to Wal Mart to ask for assistance. What a Joke that was. The store stated to me and my sister and my kids "This happens all the time". Wow I was blown away. The investigator contacted Wal Mart and my bank for information. The investigator verified that this is not an actual check but a electronic withdrawal from my account. The problem started when my bank filed a dispute and reverse the funds. Now you can not get anyone at Telecheck to help you. They just refer you to their fraud department which the police spoke to and my bank spoke to as well. Both were told it would take 7 to 10 days to clear up my account. Today almost 4 weeks later I get another notice from Telecheck and this one is very demanding. Used words like "We Fully Intend to Recover the Total Amount in Full". I did not write the check and it was not a bounced check. It was a disputed charge which I did not make. If Telecheck would have been more professional and contacted me before they started their process a lot of trouble could have been avoided. Now I called today to talk to Customer Service but they will not or can not help you. You have to go online to the dispute, fraud, police, website to do anything. Totally stupid. The police told me that Wal Mart was a big offender of this type of scam. Their employees get a hold of your banking information and do a transaction under 500 dollars so that it does not flag in their system. They make the charge then just take the money out of the register. Leaving good honest people with all the trouble. Shame on you Wal Mart. Now I am here left dealing with stupid people and crooks.
