This company has got to be stopped. I was weary from the get go to even let the kid in my house but he was very persistent and very deceptive in what he was saying. He kept saying how consumers energy has all these hidden charges and how they were going to save us money. Our bills were going to be lowered not raised as they were. He never informed us we were even signing up for their service or that we would be committed to them for 5 years. When I received my bill this month, the first with them one it, it was over $300.00 almost $70.00 more than it should've been. When I called to complain they said I was past the 30 day cancellation period and I had to write them a letter and $250.00 to cancel. I didn't even know I had signed up with them until I received this bill and called to find out what was going on. They were very unhelpful on the phone and just kept saying I signed a contract for 5 years. They are total scam artists and I cannot believe they are getting away with this. Consumers energy should be warning their customers to be aware of this company. I will continue to fight this as should all of you and tell EVERYONE you know to be aware.
