I got a postcard that said Service Notice, Final Attempt in my mail. They only supplied a phone and reference number. When I called they didn't tell me what it was about, they just took my name and age. I lied and said I was 20, that way if it was important I could handle it instead of my brother. Im actually 18.
A half hour later I've subscribed to like eight magazines for $36 ONLY for a six month period. Later I found out that its actually five years, and $36 PER month. I ask to cancel, they say its too late.
I then found out that others have been severly scammed by these people. I also found out that you have to be 20 for the service, im 18, so I used that to ask to be cancelled, but they wont take my call. So I put up a stop payment, and tried calling CS#, since they WON'T answer I left a message telling them this.
They never formally verified my age or identity. I contacted the FTC, and Attorney Generals office, giving them the full story here. I advise anyone else who has been hurt by this scam to do the same.
