PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, Do not buy puppies or kittens from Sherry Renfroe Privett or her mother Katie Privett! This mother and daughter team do nothing but sell sick puppies and kittens. I met sherri through another breeder, who didn't have what I was looking for. I talked with her and her mom on different occassions on the phone. They raise lots of different breeds of dogs. I wasn't sure if I wanted a yorkie or a shihtzu. I first began talking to Katie and she went on and on about how their kennel was the best in Alabama and they were top notch, no complaints or anything. Then yesterday I was searching their names and came across this site, where someone else had a bad experience with this mother and daughter team. I ended up buying a shihtzu puppy from them, I was told it was an imperial. Two days after I got him, he was diagnosed with Parvo. I quickly learned how deadly this disease is too little puppies. I called and spoke with Sherry and Katie about the puppy, they both told me it was my choice to treat the puppy or have him put to sleep. The vet's both told me that the puppy would not survive the virus, but I had to try and save his life. I spent over $600.00 trying to save his little life, and he fought long and hard. Four days after I got him, he passed away. I called the daughter Sherry and told her. She said she would tell her mom and get back in touch with me. Neither one of them ever called or emailed me at all. I spent days upon days calling them. I live in the same small town and everyone knows everyone it seems. I have learned sherri and her mother sell over the internet because their reputation in the town is destroyed. They have sold puppies before that had parvo and I am ashamed I contributed to their funding. The mother passed this business along to her daughter, and sherri has now gotten the same reputation and continued the same business transactions. These ladies will lie to you about the size of the puppy and it's parents. I don't know if my puppy would have gotten bigger than he was suppossed to be, because he died, but I do know of people who bought fromt he locally, where the dogs all outgrew their advertised size! I wish I would have dug and found/researched these two ladies before I bought from them. I thought buying locally would prevent me from going through all the horror stories on the internet. I do not wish to be contacted nor do I wish to be a part of an ordeal, I simply found this site and the other posting, and was floored by it. Please people, check the breeders out good before buying from them, they are not always as they seem. Nothing is safe anymore it seems. Don't trust Sherry or her mother, they are both scam artist. She has a website www.statelinekennels.com, it looks nice, and presents them well, but it is not what it seems, she has a lot of dogs, go there and see. It is a business for her, and she will tell you staright up, it is a business for profit, nothing else. Do not buy from her or you will regret it, just as I have done.
