Over charging taxes! Independence

I changed my service 2 years ago from Cingular to Cricket. I resided in Indep, Mo at the time and purchased my phone from the Cricket store at 32nd & Main in Kansas City, Mo.

I had never actually gone on-line to look at my physcial bill until last week. Much to my surprise, I found I was being billed for taxes associated with Roeland Park, KANSAS! I have NEVER resided in the state of Kansas nor has my service ever been associated with Kansas.

Kansas taxes are much higher than that of Missouri. After several calls to customer service and speaking with 3 supervisors I physically went into the corporate store located at 35th & Noland In Indep, Mo. WITH a print out of my bill showing the Kansas taxes. The rep looked over the bill and stated she would fax a copy to corporate for rebilling. I was advised the taxes would be corrected within 48 hours. That's been over a week ago. I was told also at that time to make a "bridge-payment" until the credit was issued from the taxes which I did.

NOW, again, after speaking with more customer service reps and yet another supervisor today, my service has been cut and I'm being told to contact my local taxing authority to dispute the taxes on my bill. They appear to totally disregard the fact that I have NEVER lived in Kansas, my service has NEVER been associated with the state of Kansas and I was told by THEIR in-store rep NOT to make the payment. Laura, the supervisor I spoke with 30 minutes ago stated they do not have the ability to change taxes that it was generated by the "system". I requested to speak with someone who was responsible to entering the "correct" information into the "system". That request was IMMEDIATELY denied. She stated she would escalate my issue to "corportate" again but I would still need to pay the balance of this months bill until this issue was resolved. I questioned her about 2 years worth of higher taxes they had already collected which was also immediately dismissed by her.

Their customer service reps are obviously out-sourced due to the language barriers. They either wish NOT to understand or trained to totally avoid the issues at hand.
