My dog underwent emergency surgery and I lacked $2,000 of the $4,000 for the surgery when an acquaintence mentioned CashCall. I have a 401-K but it is difficult to borrow from it in an "emergency." CashCall has never provided a Truth in Lending document. The harassment by email, up to 12 phone calls a day not to mention the verbal abuse rendered by numerous CashCall employees has been outlandish! I work for a law firm and am paid every other Friday — not the 1st and the 15th. I had to call and make arrangements to pay 1 day late and was charged $15.
Today, I received an e-mail CashCall is debiting my account for $45 late fees — no it was $15 now it's $45. When I called upon receipt of this e-mail the representative began yelling and threatening me. From the beginning of our conversation, listenting to CashCall's recording, "this call is being recorded for quality control and traning purposes..." so I said the same exact thing to the representative and I recorded the conversation at my end. I asked what the $45 debit in addition to my payment is and was instructed it's a late fee... You were late 3 months by one day each month. I paid the $15 as I went. This is totally out of control and this dragon rip off "company" to thousands needs be put out of business.
I have asked numerous times what the balance is on my account and was given an outlandish amount, different each time I speak with anyone at CashCall's Customer Service Line. I am going to take the money out of my 401-K and pay these criminal loan sharks off — in the meantime, I think this "company" needs to be investigated and the unreasonable interest rates being charged restructured to a reasonable amount. Why is this company allowed to stay in business — this is loan sharking at its best!
I have been threatened verbally for being late even with me giving them my scheduled pay days from the get go. I was so upset in one conversation, the represenative began laughing when I told this individual I was contacting the Attorney General's Office in Texas and California not to mention the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Rights Advocates.
What is wrong with our country today that we allow firms such as this to even have a business? Absolutely shocking... The harassment is horrific and threatening is not the word. I think all of us that have used this company for an emergency need to contact Dateline to do a story. What CashCall does to the public is a form of sheer rape of the system and consumers without a doubt!
