Today I recieved an online alert regarding a new credit card statement available to be viewed online.
The only problem was that I had completely paid off this credit card account nearly 9 months ago, and I had not used the account since. The account had a zero balance for 9 months.
After logging into my online account, I found 1 charge from CIC*Credit Monitoring 800-2202626 CA, listed for $79.95. There is NO-WAY I authorized this charge.
I contacted my credit card company immediately and notified them of the unauthorized charge. They said they would immediately close the current credit card account and issue a new credit card.
They stated they will also send an affidavit to get the unauthorized charge cleared from my account.
