I contacted Stainsafe regarding a noise in our couch. When I let them know I was unsure of when the problem began (after giving all my personal & warranty information) the rep pressed me for an exact date. I again said I didn't know and I was told to guess. I said maybe a week and was immediately told that my claim would be denied because it was over 5 days from the original date of breaking. We complained, and then were told the our dispute would go higher up in the company for them to decide whether they would cover our claim.
After waiting upwards of two years, we received a letter saying sign this form, and we'll give you all your money for your warranty you purcased and that would end any and all further claims. We sent it back cerified so as to verify when they received it, and we still never heard back from them for over a year. We emailed them at this email address ([email protected]) and received only form responses back. We called this number (800-292-3777) and left messages with their legal department and we received no calls back.
We faxed every 15 minutes for a week to this number (561-630-9054) and also received no responses. After researching Stainsafe on the internet and finding all of these complaints against them I went to the BBB to see if I could get some assistance and saw there that they had 2242 claims against them (as of 9-14-07). CompanyID=9731&sm= It was here that I found that there was a Govenment Action against them by the Florida Attorney General. Because of that, I decied to contact the Florida Attorney General. I emailed them all of my info.in less than one week a Investigator Sherman contacted me and asked me if I could fax him any and all of my documents to him at 561-837-5109. I didn't hear back from him but... in less than two weeks we FINALLY received our check!!!
So hopefully this helps out anyone else that has or is still having problems with Stainsafe. Contact the Florida Attorney General and see if they can give you any assistance, and maybe they will really do something to Stainsafe.
