We used Frontier Communications for or phone and DSL services which started on 6/4 and we requested disconnection on 6/7/07 but they could not do it till 6/11. My spouse was not real happy with the job and we'd never have signed on for a year long contract. We gave or fwding address to them and they were to send us a box to return modem or else pay $100. The box arrived and we sent the modem back.
We never rec'd a bill from them and frankly, I forgot all about them. The other utility co. Sent bills without problem. On Sat. 8/4 we rec'd a collection notice for $369.39 with no itemization.
I called them on Mon. 8/6 and was told that the $100 was for unreturned modem, $200 for early termination. I told them I had not signed a contract or verbally agreed to a yr. She said it made no difference; when you get services it's automatic. The 69.39 was for phone and DSL services. We contacted a lawyer who is dealing with this now.
I called them again on 8/8 to get the tracking # from the box and after a long wait and we can't give you that info; I got to speak with a supervisor. She told me that they rec'd the modem on 6/22 but it was just posted today. She also said that the other charges were DSL installation, another hi speed 49.95 charge and on and on. She stated there were no early termination fees and of course no apology for anything.
I inquired about not having a copy of the june bill and got her to send it to my lawyer. We did not agree to all these outrageos charges and would have gone elsewhere had we been informed before allowing them to come and install their equipment. She was cold and uncaring about our delema.
We believe this is totally unethical and unfair practices on their part and should not be charged more than the 69.39 which is scheduled to be paid via billpay on 8/20/07 What say you?
