Ripoff, deceptive, witholding pertinent info until it is too late. The business that doesn't give a dam

CMS called me one day to offer this "great deal" on magazine subscriptions, for only the cost of shipping. At first it sounded good until I added up what it would cost over the 3 to 4 year span they stick you with as compared to just getting subscriptions from the publishers.

I told them that I did not have enough room on my credit card to make payments and they said they had already approved it with the credit card company. How can they do that if I don't authorize it?

Anyway, I later told them I needed to cancel. I had lost my job and could barely make mortgage payments let alone have subscriptions. They said it was too late, that I had three days to cancel and that was past. No one told me that upfront.

Any regular subscription service lets you cancel at any time. There was no time to even get to know the service by then, or if they would be worthwhile.

Now I was being told I was in for the next 3 years of paying. I was flabbergasted. Then the collections letters started. They state my account balance is $799.00!!

They already charged my credit card once successfully for $69, since I am over limit no other payments made it through. Now they want to debit my checking account!

I don't want these magazines! I could lose my house because of my present situation, I don't need this debt being held over me for services which have not been fully rendered. If it is an ongoing service it should be able to be canceled!

I also began receiving deceiving calls from what I found out was a different magazine company. They wanted to confirm my magazines... I had not ordered them! T

Hey then said they were from a different company and complied when I told them to leave me alone. They started out acting as if I already had an account with them. I don't recall their name right now but they had the same information as CMS.

I was not about to get hit twice for magazines I don't need. What can be done about this? I want out of this service. I will pay for what I have received but I want nothing further!
