If you need something important mailed The UPS Store is not the place to go. The store is a franchise and can be owned by any idiot. Go to the post office if you want it done right.
I was in need of a document immediately. I wanted to pay to have a request for a birth cert. To get my passport in a hurry for a business trip. I wanted to send it overnight and prepay for an envelope for it to be overnighted back to me. Well the person behind the desk said it couldn't be done. What! Why couldn't I pay for it on my end, she insisted that I couldn't do it. Not to my surprise, but to hers, it was possible, just by adding thee 2 amounts together and putting the other envelope in the envelope I was sending. Gee how hard was that!
To make a long story short, the company got my request next day and immediately sent it back out to me. I told the clerk I needed it NEXT DAY BOTH WAYS. And I asked if UPS delivered on Saturdays and was told yes. But guess what, the idiot didn't charge me for Saturday so I didn't get it NEXT DAY like I asked for. When I didn't get it back I lost out on my appt for passport and date of trip.
I called the UPS Store and spoke to the owner, Gardiner, he told me she did her job and i got what I paid for. I told him the whole story and requested a refund of the portion not done NEXT DAY as requested and he told me NO! I told him I would complain to corporate offices and he said "go ahead."
Weel they did absolutely nothing for me because when they called him he said I paid for what I got. So they have no real customer service because it is a franchise store and he makes the decision. S o please go to the United States Post Office for real postal services, not some idiot who just happens to own a store. I bet the post office would have refunded my money, but they probably would have got it done right in the first place.
