I purchased a compac laptop from circut city located in round rock tx in early Dec 06. One of the things that influenced my decision to purchase the laptop was the $50.00 HP rebate offer and $150.00 Circut city rebate offer. Within six weeks of submitting my HP rebate I received a check from HP.
It has been over 15 weeks and I still have not received a check from Circut city. I called the circut city customer service center and was told none of my information was on file? After giving the customer service representative all my information to include the promo and tracking numbers I was assured that I would receive a check in 7-10 business days.
It's been over 20 days and no check. I checked the status of my rebate on line but of course it came back no information on file. What really fustrates me is that when I purchased the laptop it came with a printer and software. Of course these items came at an additional price, but I was assured by the sales clerk that I would get all my money back through the circut city rebates. If it weren't for the fact that the sales clerk told me I would get all my money back for the printer and software I would not have purchased the laptop, the additional items cost me well over $300.00. From what I've been reading I think Circut city is running a scam.
