My wife and I devorced. I move 1000 miles away. Before leaving I called Verizon Wireless and told them she would be keeping the phone and that we wanted to put it in her name. They said "No Problem" they would send her the forms to fill out and it would be put in her name. They sent the forms, she filled them out and returned them. Later she wanted to get 2 additional phones for for her daughter and her son. They called me on a threeway call and asked if I cared, I told them that as long as it was in her name I could not care less. Six months later I moved back to SD. I kept my own account with verizon paid up. Upon my return to South Dakota I was informed that they never put her phone in her name. Since they did not have a contract with me for the additional phones they had rolled them over and added them to the original contract added the three bills together. And began a campaign of herassment on me to pay her bills. When I refused to pay a bill I did not owe they sold it to a collection company who tacked on another $300.00 and began another campaign of herrassment. When my own contact ended I closed my account and will never do buissiness with them again. Meanwhile they are raping my credit. Sinse I am a disabled Veteran with a very tiny income I could not pay them if I wanted to.
