My wife and I in the year 2004 bought a piece of property in Hot Springs Village with the intention of retiring there.
We were not certain about moving to the area
but the sales agent said if we decided not to move there we would be able to sell the property at a gain. "with no problem" she went on and on about the amenties of the golf courses, and the lake and told us how easy it would be to sell the property if we had to.
Well something recently came up where we are definitely not going to be able to move there so we were in touch first with a real estate company in the area—The gentlemen I spoke with explained there is a large inventory of land in the Hots Springs Village area and my property might take years to sell—so I called NRP—and explained we could no longer move to HOTS SPRINGS VILLAGE—because of family issues and we will not be able to carry this property for years waiting to sell
I spoke with the"Hots Springs Village" Account Manager she said that's just to bad and hung the phone up in my face.
We feel like we have been ripped-off as the agent made it sound like the property would easily sell and in fact we would make money because the price of the property would be increasing soon and with all the amenties people we comming in droves to buy.
National Recreationl properties knew the value of the land did not measure to what we paid for it, therefore they want nothing to do with it.
So far they have definitely not been willing to work with me. We are asking that they take this land back into their inventory with no further cost to us. They have already made over $3,500.00 on property that we paid $10,000-$12,000 for, I am told some properties in Hot springs Village go for as low as $600.00 now.
We would like to along with other property owners start a class action suit againt these people as there are many unhappy land owners there.
There are as I understand it many land owner who are not residents who have just abandand their land. Please let your voices be heard.
