Ripoff

My fiance and I went into kay's and purchased a Leo Diamond ring April. My ring was beautiful. Color E Clarity VS2. We looked the diamond over very carefully. The band that was on it was yellow gold and we wanted white gold. So they sent my ring out to be switched.

It took about a week. One of our friend had stopped by the house and he was looking at the ring. Since he deals with diamonds. He noticed that the band was defective that under one part of the band that goes up to meet my diamond was missing a piece of gold.

I took it back into kay's and they noticed the same thing and said it was a defective band. They told me they would send it out to be repaired. It took a while and I called them to see where my ring was and they had no records of me bringing the ring in. I was very upset. Finally after an hour they called me and stated that the rep who filed the ticket put in your the drawer and forgot to get a managers approval to send it out.

Well I got my ring back finally but bad news is that the repair shop didnt even fix my ring it looked the same. They sent it out for the 2nd time but guess what they called said it was back in I drove an hour to pick it up again only to find out when I got there that the ring still hadn't been fixed also the ring was in worst condition it had scrathes on it and nicks. They sent it in a 3rd only to come back unrepaired again. I had enough and they said they would order me a whole new band and they would call me when it was in that it would be a few weeks.

They finally called me and I drove an hour to take my ring back in to have them send it in to the repair shop to put the new band on. When I got there the sales lady showed my the band and it was nothing like the one that I orginally purchased. She told me she new that it wasn't like the one on my ring because the one on my ring wasnt a real Leo band, that it was just one of theres that they inscribed with the leo signature and put a diamond chip in it.

I told her that should be copyright and it wasnt right. I asked her why noone told me that the band was going to be different a phone call would of been nice. She didn't even say sorry. She gave me to choices that I could have the new band put on and it would be a real Leo band or she could order me the same band that I purchased but it wouldn't say the leo diamon and have a diamond chip inside the band. I asked her why and she said because of copyright that they could no longer do that.

I told her that when we purchased the ring noone told us that only our diamond was a leo and that the band was a fake that there repair department wrote the leo name in it. I told her thats like going and buying a rolex only to find out that its not the real deal or going and buying a pair of oakleys only to find out that there foxleys.

I was pissed off. But I agreed to have the new band put in because I want my ring to be the real deal. I called customer relations and complain the guy was very nice at first but it gets worst they gave me a giftcard for $150 to go towards what ever so we applied it to our bill. Our ring was sent it to put new band on keep in mind this is the 4th time sent in.

Well we got a call that it was back in from repair we drove to pick it up again. After looking at the ring the prongs were very wavy and had alot of knicks on the prongs. So guess what they had to send it in againg for the 5th time. I called customer relations again and complained we spent almost $2900 for a ring that I havent even had a whole year and its not even the same ring I fell in love with.

Well my ring is back in again it looked good at least I thought it looked good. She told me to take it home and if I found anything wrong with it to give them a call. Well there are alot of things wrong with it all four prongs are not squared and one prong is bigger than the other, my diamond is off centered, i have black stuff on my prongs also there is a cut in one of the prongs, my diamond if you hold it up and look at it you can see black clouds on my diamond in front of each prong it doesnt even look as shiny and bright as it once did the prongs arent even the same height.

I called and told them and they said to bring it back in for the 5th time i think to be sent in for repair. I took it to my local jeweler and he comfirmed everything that i noticed wrong with it, it was a poor repair job. I called into customer relations again and told them that we just want a refund of our money so we can go somewhere that people take time and care. He told me that it christmas time and they are real busy and they have alot of customers with problems that I would have to wait to find out what they are going to do for me.

I told him I do not want my diamond to be taken out again to be fixed do to repeats of taking diamond out can cause cracks. He told me that they cant refund me my money. Then I told him I want a whole new ring same clarity and color and size due to all the problems with mine he was very rude and didnt even act like he want to help me. I forgot to mention they were nice enought to take off one month payment of $190 for our trouble. But that doesnt make up for our time and effort going back and worth almost an hour and for the time with my ring. Specially since the holidays are coming up.

He told me that he would call me back to let me know what they are going to do for me. So I'll wait but i dont recommend anyone to buy from kay's and if anyone has previously purchased a leo diamond to take it back to kay's to make sure your leo band is in fact a true leo band if anyone wants they can email me
