Online ordered June 12th - still waiting. Ripoff

On June 12th I made the terrible mistake of placing an order for a Monster audio cable on Target.com. I received the usual "You order was received and is being processed at this time". I didn't have any reason to believe that anything was wrong at this point. Then the "There is a delay with your order" e-mails started shortly thereafter. I think I lost count after 30, yup THIRTY.

Not only did I not receive my item (here it is six months later) but I sent an e-mail off to Customer Service e-mail demanding an explanation. They were somewhat apologetic (somewhat) and then another slew of "delay" e-mails continued to happen. Eventually, the e-mails stopped but again - no explanation as to why they could not deliver the item as advertised (and most likely still is being advertised). This is the poorest example of online ordering and excuses that I've ever has the misfortune of being involved with.in a sluggish economy, Target (nor any retailer) cannot assume that if they build it, people will come.in fact, it is this economy that makes consumers that much more discerning. I for one wouldn't give Target one penny of my hard earned money after this (and other) experiences.

I had an equally disappointing (if not insulting) experience at their retail store (at least here in New Hampshire). I had received a $20.00 pajama set for Christmas last year that was a bit too big. I didn't have a receipt, but the price was printed right on the box. The customer service clerk told us that she could only give a refund for pennies on the dollar (something like $1.50!) since it was only stocked as a seasonal item. I told them they can keep their $1.50 and I put it in a Salvation Army box. The have by-far the worst return and exchange policy in the business. Buyer beware.

Lastly, the security gustapos (I mean guards) that they position at the front entrance of their stores immediately put people (who don't shoplift and are legitemate paying customers) on the defensive and uneasy from the minute they enter the store. I think it would be better to replace them with closed circuit camera systems if they're sincere about protecting their bottom line. Just one consumer's opinion. And the pink "hue" of that store virtually makes me want to hurl every time I walk in there. Really, pink?
