They sent a fake check, ripoff

They sent me a letter saying that i won $250,780.00. And they sent me a check for $1,977.47 that was from (city bank)

They toll me that a need to put that check in to my cheking accunt. But i went to (city bank) to cash the check and they toll me that the check was fake.

I call the company to see what was happening and they toll me that somebody will call me back. And they never call back.
