Promised to broker out my moving job to a reputable company, who was supposedly trustworthy. My goods were handled so carelessly that their arrived broken and damaged. Then refused to take responsibility for any of it

Nationwide Relocation Services is actually a moving coordinator, although, at the time, I didn't know that's what they were. They called me and I thought they were a moving company. I found out they wouldn't be the ones who actually moved me until the day before my move, when the company they hired called me. This company, in the month since my goods were delivered, has gone out of business:

Quality Relocation Services
6601 Lyons Rd Suite C11
Coconut Creek FL 33073
954-427-5120

I am visually impaired, and Nationwide was informed of this. They sent me their Terms and Conditions, and it was so hard to read, people who can see well have problems reading it.in there, although no one bothered to explain anything to me, it says Nationwide is not responsible for any damages, there is a 2-day window for pickup and for delivery, and although Nationwide accepted a credit card for their deposit, cash was expected on delivery. Since I am visually impaired, I would have expected someone from the company to point out the important information. But that is not why I have to file a claim.

This claim is for all the damage that was done to my household goods; so much damage that it is easy to see no one took reasonable care of my belongings. There were boxes of dishes in pieces, my furniture was dismantled and broken, I paid for special glass paks, and my glass arrived wrapped in my own cushions, I paid and was told I had to do this, for plastic to wrap my mattress and boxsprings, but never saw it as it was supposedly put on and taken off outside my view, even though I had told the movers to leave it on. My washing machine leaks; my bicycle is damaged, a pole lamp is bent at the bottom so it won't stand straight, 2 expensive lamps are damaged, outdoor chair cushions are ripped. I never got copies of any paperwork, including the weight information. The only copies I got were an inventory list, which can't be read at all.

I informed Nationwide about the damages and they told me they are not responsible for damages, but they would help me file a claim with the other company. They sent me a claim form, which I copied and pasted into a word processor program so I could type the information in (this is easier for me to do). Even though this form is a generic form, not even on their letterhead, they refused to accept it, saying it couldn't be filed unless I used the exact form they had sent me. On that form, at the bottom, it says I am to sign a statement saying I do not hold them responsible, now and forever, for any damages. Quality Relocation has gone out of business, and Nationwide doesn't want to be held responsible. Nationwide hired Quality Relocation Services. It states on their website they can be trusted to facilitate a person's move with some of the best known movers in the country, and they hired a company who not only damaged a great deal of my things, but is now, a month later, out of business.
