Charming sales rep told me how much money I could save switching to Merchant Lynx Services. Assured me there were no hidden fees like "those other companies".
I already had a processing machine, so he pushed and urged me to get the hand held device for people using a pin number, as this would save me even more money. I kept saying no, til he said "just try it, and if you don't like it, you can return it at no obligation." So I said ok.
I signed some paperwork, which he said he had to take back to the office and would send me my copy later.
After 2 months, I called to say I really didn't want the hand held device, wasn't getting enough use to warrant the $20/month rental fee. That's when I found out I had somehow signed a lease for 4 years!
There is no way on earth I would have done that, and I said where is the lying salesman that ripped me off? They wouldn't give me any name, said they didn't know.
I called the lease company, CIT, and they said I was obligated and sent me a letter saying if I didn't pay it could destroy my credit. So this lousy little hand held device cost me $24.99 with taxes for 48 months, which I just paid off since I am going out of business after 2 years with this misery.
I called Merchant Lynx last week to tell the I was cancelling their services, and they sent me a form saying it would cost me $395 to cancel. I had taken notes from slimey salesmen's first visit, and remembered and had written that there would be NO termination fee.
The secretary who answered was very apologetic, said she was embarassed to work there because she gets these kinds of calls daily. Told me the slimey saleman was John Kucyk, the owner of the company! She told me to google the company, and that is how I found this site.
I am still waiting for slime bucket to return my call, though I'm pretty sure of what he'll say.
Sounds to me like these companies all get a nice kick-back from CIT for ripping people off royally.
