It's hard to really pick a place to start with everything that has happened but I'll try my best:
The first thing that went wrong happened when my wife and I tried to cancel our service. We got charged a early termination charge for ending our contract early. Funny thing is that the contract the we signed was for NO CONTRACT.
Second, about a month after we just paid the whole balance to be rid of it..."it" came back. We got our credit card bill in the mail and saw a $500 charge on it for equipment. Putting us over our credit limit and getting charged numerous fees associated with that. We then called Dish to find out why we were charged the fee. Turns out they want their equipment back. So I told them they could have it and they said that they would send out some boxes so that I could ship them back.
Numero Three! They then asked if I would like to pay the remaining balance on my bill... That's funny I thought I already paid the final amount on my bill. Turns out they charged me $34 in taxes on the $500 in equipment that went to my credit card. They said not to worry about it and it would be reversed as soon as the boxes arrived. Well after we got off the phone with them we called our credit card company, Capital One (let's not get started on those crooks!), and told them that it was an unauthorized charge and we filled a dispute. They temporarily took the charge off and told us they would investigate the matter.
The plot thickens... After about a month of waiting for the boxes I called Dish back to tell them. After they looked at the account they tell me the boxes were sent a few days after my first call. I told them I never got them and had to get a supervisor on the phone to send another set of boxes out.
Another month later... No boxes. I called again told them the neverending story once again and another supervisor got on the phone and sent another set out confirming my address two or three times.
Months later... After about five sets of boxes I had just about had it. Ever time I called I got another retard that I had to explain everything to just to have them offer another set of boxes. I could never get any of them to give me any kind of tracking numbers on the packages or delivery confirmation. Meanwhile my credit card sends my a notice that Dish has turned down the claim and the $500 was re-applied to my account.
THEN!!! I get a collection notice for the $34 left on the account. My wife paid the stupid $34 in hopes that one day we would get the boxes to Dish and get our money back. The agent told us that she would make sure that Dish would send boxes to us and also that the collection notice would be removed from our credit report.
Suprise, Suprise! No boxes and the collection is still on our credit. I am lost. I have called Dish one last time and this agent actually gave me a tracking number. The problem still remains that all of the fees and interest on the money that was charged to me will never be returned.
I am at a loss of where to turn. I can't even imagine how much this has cost me and affected both my wife's and my own life. It's a constant source of stress and frustration.
Anyone have an idea?
