Providen SST Rip offs
You, know what! I should have looked on this message board a long time ago! But how fast life is the days go by! I am so super happy that I was not going crazy! This happened to me as well and fast, I am so disappointed angry cause what can you do? And like you I was in the process of rebuilding my credit as well but this has screwed me up major.
These credit card people are freeken rip-offs, I was never late on my Providen account. And like everyone else, I made my payment online or I would call Providian a do a check by phone... Until one time for some reason they did not get my check information right Providen (rude as hell customer service reps) from then it was all down hill.
I called them to ask what happen because I did not see that monies taken from my checking account, they so called said the check information I gave them was incorrect, my next question was well why you didn't call or anything they said they are now!!! And your 60 days late! I said how could that be? May, April payment the rep said it came back, I was really puzzled and said each time the customer rep said my checking account back it to me, as a matter of fact it's the same account, I been using for years this whole time.
So the information was incorrect for 2 months and you wait 2 months to call me. 60 days hit my credit report. From then it snow balled, I started doing all payments online because I just could not bare to speak to those reps and I wanted to be sure the checking account number was entered correctly.
One day got online to make a payment (Providian) got the stupid message about my account has been sold online! So I think that's when SST stepped in like a thief in the night had no idea were I account was 60days after my Providian (SST) account was in the red well who got the payment I just made two weeks ago online? I said to myself.
Called got the recorders one day was the phone pressing numbers for 20mins keep getting cut off. To find out I don't have a account then it hung up on me! Did not have an account number until my bill came from SST 60 days which was credit card was due with my interest rate tripled and late fees, over the limit fees. Has sent my balance of $650.00 of a $1000.00 limit now is $2011.60. I could not buy a bike if I wanted to.
Today I am still struggling with this. My account is now way past my limit with nothing but over the limit charges and late fees. And when I do call them I get some rep in a foreign country with very, very, very poor English! I wanted to cry!!! Because my credit report was finally get back to good, now I am even worse off then when I started to rebuild.
If anyone knows anything about a class action suit PLEASE contact me PLEASE. I am too old be going thru this.
