I bought a bike at this store, I thought the staff was wonderful even tipped them generously, after riding the bike once the wheels shook and I fell off the bike, so I went to return the bike. I had asked when I bought the bike if it was returnable and was told yes, I directly asked both people working that day if I could get my cash back if the bike didn't work out because it would mean I needed to go elsewhere to buy a bike, I was told yes by the two employees on that day.
I went to return the bike, this is where the trouble started, I went in thinking that all would be fine, I was nice to the "manager" who told me I could not if fact get my cash back he then swung around the computer to show me a sign that was not in plain view, which is why I didn't see it when I bought the bike, In Massachusetts it is the law that return policies be visable and plus I had already been told I could get my cash back if I paid with cash.
The boy who had been on the day I bought the bike was nasty to me said he never told me that, he also called me a liar and misquoted me, he wanted a fight so we had one, verbally of course, I had given him a compliment he heard it wrong and so he wanted to stand there and yell back and forth with me, the "manager" began laughing hysterically, I told him to call his boss he said he would not do it I asked why he said because he wouldn't and "I don't need to give you a reason" well he in fact does need to give me a reason, I ended up letting them send me the check because I was obviously dealing with two extremely immature boys who should not be allowed to manage a store.
I have shopped at other Ski Markets and never had a problem, so it was obviously this store and this staff. They treated me horrifically, I want to know what happened to "The Customers Always Right" when I worked retail we were taught this and it seems that it is not taught anymore.
If you want to buy a bike don't go to the Danvers Ski Market, go anywhere else but this store. I was mistreated by two little boys who shouldn't be able to work alone in a store they don't possess the skills necessary to be running a store. I am really upset that I gave each of the employees that sold me the bike a ten dollar tip and the ungrateful brats treated me terribly. Don't shop at this store its not worth the hassle if you have a problem with a product.
