I live in a small 2 bedroom apartment, i only am home once a week and i get a huge Water, Sewer and Trash bill every month! There is a $10 fee for trash, $21 fee for water and a $21 fee for sewer. On top of that there are service charges totallying about $8.
It is about the same every month so obviously there are no meters, it is "controlled" by RUBS (Resident Utility Billing Service)... Quote from ista's website: " it bases consumption on variables like square footage or number of occupants. Ista offers all of the additional services required to make a RUBS program successful. Residents can learn to help control their monthly utility bills by becoming conscious of conserving resources and reporting maintenance issues."
Ok, so if i am getting charged the same flat rate... Why would that make me concious of the water i am using??? It will not! More than likely, i am getting over-charged! The apartment management should spend the money and have the meters put in!
