I was employed by IPA-IBA, International Profit Associates in the USA or Integrated Business Analysis in Canada, during the first quarter of 2005. This was by far the most destructive company I have ever encountered in my 20 years in the business world.
If you are a business owner who had the misfortune of dealing with IPA-IBA, please know that you are not alone. The employees are just as poorly treated as the clients.
Commission sales reps are hired en masse and are then subjected to ridiculous expectations and caused endless expenses. A new class of 30-35 unsuspecting trainees are hired every two weeks in each of five departments. My expenses in my first 10 weeks exceeded $2500 in gas expense and cell-phone expense. I thought I was making some decent sales, in which I would recoup some of these costs but the money never came through. I was told that the deals fell through.
There are Senior Area Managers (SAM's), Senior Business Analysts (SBA's), Business Coordinators (BC's), Inside Sales and Business Consultants. All but the "Business Consultants" are some glorified version of a sales representative. And even the Consultants are expected to do extensive upselling using very high pressure sales techniques.
The truth is that in each department it is likely that 90% of new hires have remained with the company past a year.in some recruitment classes, 100% of new hires leave before three months is up.
New hires are routinely sent to companies that have been endlessly harassed by previous unsuspecting employees of the IPA-IBA. I, personally, was sent into at least ten companies who had previous terrible experiences with IPA-IBA and this was all in my first month on the job. Even the best sales people in the world can not do well in these circumstances.
So, if you are a company that has had problems with IPA-IBA and you plan to get back at the company, please know that the 1st line sales rep who is sent in to meet you is most likely brand new and knows nothing of the companies fraudulent practices and most likely will quit as soon as they find out what is going on there. Please be reasonable. I would have had a heartattack if I had been confronted by police officer waiting for me at a business owners office.
