Prosper, Robert Allen, Mark Victor Hansen ripoff! Promised to work with me until I doubled my $

I am writing this as an extremely unhappy and disappointed Prosper client.

I originally met Mark Victor Hansen over 20 years ago. He and Jack Canfield wrote Chicken Soup for the Soul' and they were moving heaven and earth to get it sold. I admired them for believing in their book and what they were doing to get the word out. Over the years, I have seen Mark at other events and was always impressed with the way he was walking his talk. To call him an American Success Story would be an understatement.

Because of my admiration and respect for Mark, I responded to an email in May. While I don't have the email any longer, it was one that Prosper sends out to the masses. (Wanted: 100 People to Become Millionaires). After much thought and because of my respect for Mark Victor Hansen, I called the number and spoke to Damon Willis.

I told Damon that I had one product; a 3 CD set. I told him I wanted to market the CDs on my website. I further told him that my product was not unique, and he said, that was fine, by working with our company we would find a way to MAKE it unique.

He said, and I quote, By the end of a year we promise you will double your money or we will refund it. I questioned that and he, again, said that I would double my money by the end of a year (by working with Prosper).

Again, I told him that I had one item to sell on my website a 3-CD set on weight loss. It was an excellent product but not unique as there are many CD sets, on the subject, out there. He was very persuasive and told me that if I worked with the Prosper team for a year I would more than double the money back that I invested in Prosper. I was very skeptical and Damon promised me that the team would work with me until I doubled my investment. (If you haven't doubled your investment in a year, we will work with you until you do). It was that promise that convinced me to sign up.

I invested $11,920.00.

I started working with a 'Mentor' named Dane Ing and followed his instructions. I wrote articles, looked for Joint Ventures, completely re-worked my website (twice - both with and without professional help at additional cost) offered free information, sent emails to all kinds of people spending hours and hours looking for interested parties. I spent substantially more than the 10-20 hours listed in the agreement. I did everything I was told to do!

When I complained that nothing was working, I was passed on to Dusty Rhodes, who worked with me. I have been counseled by various people at student care and the process was the same: start over at phase 1: send emails, write articles, look for J.V. S, and keep doing what I had been doing. After a while, it became apparent that it isn't working.

To date I have made $90.00 (ninty dollars) on this investment that Damon promised would double my money'. Also, I have been hassled by Prosper's finance department for money I had already paid in full.

I am very unhappy.

As I read of other complaints against Prosper, I also see that everyone paid a different price for this 'service'. I feel like such a sucker.

The bottom line is this: I have invested considerable time and $11,920 into a situation that is not what it was represented to be. Considering what I was promised and what I received, I request my money back.
