I joined Prosper and was funded for a loan. I thought, wow great! I was contacted and had to send my driver's license a voided check. Prior to that Prosper had verified my checking account and home address. A few days later I am called again asking for statements regarding my income and bank deposits. Again, I complied. At the same time, Prosper called for a telephone verification. On Friday May 25th, I faxed the last of the necessary documents and was told the funds would be released after Memorial Day. On Wednesday May 30 I was contacted again by Prosper to verify my identity AGAIN. I had been with my husband who was in the hospital, I was tired. The woman from Prosper put in my file that "I was inconsistant with answers, and I was being coached."
Now when you read that you will be funded soon, watch out. Prosper's stated policy is 7 days. I was on day 8. When calling to inquire about anything be prepared to be tranferred to a call center where English is not the first language. When all is said and done, the employees at Prosper know more about you, than you do about them. The catch phrase about cancelling my loan was I had "voided the trust in our relationship." I wonder how many other clients have heard the same thing.
