Ripoff unreasonable damaged receiver charge

I ordered two DVR's from Dish Network a year ago. Shortly after, the one DVR would loose its signal each time the microwave was used. The microwave and receiver were sharing a common wall. Dish Network advised me that I should move either the microwave or receiver and that they could not explain why this was happening. We then had our sattlelite updated, so the technician gave us a new receiver at that time and told us to send the other one back that was losing it's signal.

We sent it back and a month later had a $199.00 charge on our bill for a damaged receiver. We contacted Dish Network and asked about the charge. They explained that the Technical Support Department for Dish Network found "trace mineral dirt" in the receiver and that we were responsible for the damage. We asked what "trace mineral dirt" was, but to date, nobody can answer this question.

We have disputed the charges both by emailing Dish Network, sending a letter, and calling. We get the same answer each time, sorry our investigation by our Technical Department stands as is and we can't adjust your account. Basically, it's our word against yours, is their attitude. I never purchased a DISH Home Protection Plan, so it's my opinion that they think they can hold customers, like myself, liable for any damage.
