I ordered service for my son 12-04 which was a 1 year contract. I added friends and family 2nd line for my other son. They totally screwed it up and were billing for 2 totally seperate accounts.
When I called to straighten out thier mess they said it was MY fault and the only thing they could do was redo the whole thing. Little did I know that this was some kind of ploy to incorporate a 2-year contract instead of the 1-year that I had agreed to.
When the year came up I called to cancel and was told that there would be a 300.00 fee for early cancelation. I told them that I signed up for a 1-year contract and got some kind of line from them. They said the charge was for the phones and termination of the contract. The phone you can buy for 19.99. I told them that I was going to report them to the better business bureau to which they said go ahead.
They continued to bill me a monthly rate for 2 more months although the service was terminated by them. Now I get a bill for 598.09 and turned into a collection company who even though I have threatened to turn them into the police have continued to call me to the tune of sometimes 10 times a day.
It took over a month to figure out who the calls were coming from because they would not identify themselves or the nature of the calls. I'm not stupid, I know that even if they are trying to get money for a debt once they are told not to call they can be in trouble for harrassment but the government does nothing to stop it so they know that they will continue to get away with it.
I have had a sprint account for 7 years and never experienced anything like this. When ever there has been an issue with a bill they have always fixed it no questions asked. Even with the confusion during this nextel thing I have not had any issues.
Now I see that I am not alone in this CINGULAR/FINANCIAL ASSETS MGMT thing. It's terrible that so many are experiencing the same kind of suitations and still no government agency has stepped in to do something about it. Hopefully if we all stick together we can get it out in the open so with all eyes on them they will start to get to the business of correcting the mess they have made.
