On December 19 I ordered a Magical Hair Dora Fairytale Doll from "thebabyoutlet.com", it was only after I ordered did I discover that it would take 4 days before they would even start to process the order and then take another 7 to 14 days to deliver the order. So I immediately emailed customer service to cancel my order.

The next day after NOT receiving a response I got the phone numbers for the company (after trying several numbers that are listed on their website and many of them don't work) and finally found one that worked and then proceeded to leave approx. 6 phone calls stating I wanted my order cancelled still no response, so I emailed the company at least 2 more times still no response, so then I assumed that my order was probably cancelled, ha! Ha!

On December 26, I received an email telling me that my order was shipped, the original statement said it would be shipped via UPS, but then the email said was shipped via Fedex and the link listed in the email sent me to Fedex but the company hadn't given me a tracking number so there was no way to check the status of my "order", so I then emailed the company again stating NOT to send my order and to NOT charge my account, still no response.

Then since no withdrawal was done at that time on my account I assumed that the email was a mistake, then on December 28 there was a withdrawl on my account by the company, so again I emailed the company and still no response, I then contacted my bank and contested the charge so my bank then credited my account, but then the doll arrived and I must admit not very well packed either.

I contacted the company and informed them that I had already cancelled my order and since I had and did NOT plan on paying for the doll that if they want the doll back they would pre-pay to have UPS deliver the doll back to them and stated they had 2 weeks to contact me regarding the matter, and amazingly I was contacted the very next day.

The BabyOutlet then informed me that they don't pre-pay for shipping but that I could pay for the shipping and they would "credit" me the shipping, but after the track record I already had with this company and their horrible record with the "other-BBB" I informed them that there was NO WAY that I would pay for shipping so unless they wanted me to keep the doll for free they better get UPS out here on their dime since it was their screw-up that caused this whole mess.

The following is their emailed response verbetim:

Subject: RE: I can't believe it but I just received the Dora Doll, Please send me a Prepaid UPS shipping Authorization so that I can return the doll I had cancelled!

PS, our records with BBB is fine as a ratio to the number of orders we have been handled over the years. You: received communications from us and received your order, so no reason to complain, retail is a tough business and your order was handled correctly just abit late but that is all.

So if you come across the "babyoutlet" run the other way, better to buy from some guy in a trench coat in the park or out of the back of their car then this place.
