While Gary helped me by giving me a job when I was released from prison, He was also helping himself by hiring someone into his shop that has alot of knowledge in the embroidery field. I felt for along time that I was in debt to this man for the chance that he gave me and over time I began to realize that I have done alot to help Gary. Before I started working for him he was paying out $75.00 a design to have them digitized and this charge was passed on to the customer of the design, but when I started working for him he was still charging the customer $75.00, but I was doing the digitizing of the designs and Gary did not have to pay this money out any longer, on that point alone I feel that I paid this man back for giving me a job.
During the course of the 2 years that I worked for this man several of my paychecks bounced and while the amount of the paycheck was always covered, the overdrafts that this caused was never covered. I tried to find out why the checks bounced, but neither his bank or my bank would give me any information. The overdrafts that I incurred from this cost me over $800.00. I had to pay the bank for these, which caused me to miss paying other bills, which caused penelties on these bills which started a cycle that I am still trying to recover from.
On to the most important matter here!
By my own fault, I quit paying my child support payments for 3 months and when it was put in front of me about this matter, I tried to do the right thing by contacting the child support enforcment agency and giving them my work information. I asked them at the time if it was possible for them to just have it debited from my checking account and they told me no that it had to be garnished from my wages. I figured at the time that the garnishment would be sent, but that the checks would bounce. I did not even think that Gary would never even pay it at all. When I checked the State disbursement unit one month after the first garnishment was taken out I asked Gary about the support and he told me that he had sent the check and to have them call him and he will give them check numbers. On several occasions I was told that these check stubs existed, but I never got to see them. I do not believe that he paid the support. I showed him, on two occasions, my exwifes website to try to let him know that she is not just going to let the matter of the child support that is owed to the girls go away and say oh well guess I'm not going to get it. All he had to say about it is "I'll sue her!" And still after this no payments showed up at the ILSDU.
I finally stood up for myself against Gary when he decided that he can treat me anyway that he felt and quit my job.
And now it is time for me to stand up for my children that I have done nothing for, for the past 12 years. He kept the money due to my children and caused them to not be able to have the kind of Christmas that they deserve. He garnished $800.00 from my paycheck and there is still one more paycheck that I have not received that will have more garnished from it. He says that he sent the checks to the address that was in the garnishment letter, my exwife and me both received copies of the same letter and both of our copies had the correct address on them, why would anyone believe that his had a different one on it?
It is time for Gary Gaehle to pay the support that was garnished from my wages and to pay the fines that he has incurred for not paying it on time!
On a personal note in this matter, I hope that the fines are very high and they do not give him a break on them and I hope that he realizes what he is doing and finally pays the money that he owes to the girls. I really don't care if he ends up having to sell his equipment to pay this debt either.
