My ex-husband is a deadbeat dad. He owes me more than $7,000.00 in back child support. He is the type of dad that does everything he can to avoid having to pay the support he owes to my son. His name is James Harvey Jr, and he has went so far as to say he'd rather sit in jail than pay child support. He has been this way since 1994, and the only reason he has paid in the past was because he was forced by the courts to have his wages garnished. Well now he has found a way to get out of paying, and that is to stop working altogether.
He has also tried to file unemployment in hopes that they would take the support from that, needeless to say he was not eligible for those benefits, until he gets a job or something. This man has tried every effore he can to avoid paying, even to the point of wanting to go before the judge and have his parental rights taken away... Of course he didn't understand that all he was doing is saying he didn't want to have any rights to our son, but dumb as he is, was not aware he would still be required to pay for support. I wanted to report him and hope that he does end up on tv, so hopefully he will start catching up on the child support he is behind on, and start paying like he's supposed to. I have heard about alot of dead beat dad's and mom's, but i never knew what extreme's they would take to get out of supporting a child that belong's to them. Hopefully this might help me and my son to get the money that is owed to us.
