You know I have worked in almost 5 walmarts and they are all the sameThey find a way to phrase things and make them sound like they are not discriminatin, showing favoritism, ect.
If you work at walmart know your rights. Read up on the policies, there are many ways that the store manager will try to rip you off. If you are a veteran and get $16.00 or more an hour, they find ways to get rid of you because they can replace you with one at half price and still save on payroll. You know after christmas when they are cutting people, they call it reduction of workforce. If you have a d-day they can fire you. But in reality the can't especially if it is an old coaching. You can sue for wrongful termination. Even worse if you also get a lot an hour they will nit-pick and coach you until you are out of ther. I have seen it first hand.
Also they cut those people that earn more an hour to cut down on payroll. Or they don't schedule you on sunday because they don't want to fork over the extra cash to you. I mean you deserve it why deprive you from it. If you complain about it they say that they don't need a lot of peopl on that day. They are not allowed to utter the words: union, unionize, & senority. They are totally opposed to the union and everything is based on senority, but they mask it as being more 'qualified'.
Assistant managers start out at $30,000 a year and with an average bonus anywhere from $0 to $2,000 and they take care of everything from customers to unloading trucks. (we got stuck with the crap jobs.) and get a raise of no more than 2,000 a year. Not much when you are dealing with a lot of crap. And you stop recieving any raises after you hit 42,000 a year, you are capped out.
Co-managers get 42,000 a year for doing nothing plus bonuses anywhere fron 3,000 to 10,000 and they cap out at 47,000 a year a store manager gets 48,000 a year to 115,000 a year and they do nothing!!! They get bonuses sometime in the six digit range. Mine got 115,000 one year. Can you believe that? I can even imagine what the big wigs get...
