I have noticed that your files are replete with consumer complaints against Sprint. I am adding another. Sprint decided last month to arbitrarily 'get rid of' its Rewards Program. Almost at the same time an article was published in the financial section of the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle headlined: "Sprint pays $7M to new CEO of unit."
I called to protest, I wrote to customer relations, and asked them if this was how they repayed loyalty, having been a customer nearly 25 years, and asking that we Reward members even be "grandfathered in, " but to no avail. I then wrote to the new $7M CEO, Daniel Hesse, and of course did not receive the courtesy of a reply. I asked to redeem my well over 141,000 points for cash, which was an option in years past, sorry, I was told. (I guess Mr. Hesse will someday be able to exercise HIS 408,000 stock options for cash!)
I recently spoke with a friendly Sprint service person, and she said that there have been a lot of complaints from Rewards Program members about its elimination. The other day I received a 'thank you for your business letter, what can we do to serve you better, and "We value you as a loyal Sprint customer and will keep your best interests in mind when developing new ways for you to save."
I would like to see a class-action complaint filed against Sprint on behalf of Sprint Rewards Program members. We have been left in the lurch, many of us, trying to accumulate points toward certain goals while subscribing to more expensive calling plans over the years. As of July 6, the Program was discontinued, and we have until November 3 to redeem our points.
