I cancelled my account in 4/05 with the bill amount of $83.55 paid in full. I kept on getting bills and the balance was eventually over $185.00. I did not pay and kept sending in information that that account had been cancelled.
After two months of this, the balance was suddenly lowered, with no contact to/from Cricket, to $76.66. After mailing in another note about account being cancelled, I then rec'd a letter from the Customer Relations Corporate Office that I cannot close the account by mail because I still owed a balance.
When I called their 800 number to try to settle this matter, the "automated company" cannot even find that the account exists. So tell me, how do I still owe money on an account that does not exist??
