I shipped my belongings from San Diego, CA to Spokane, WA in a effort to save money. I was referred to FedEx by a friend, who apparently didn't know just how slimy and deceitful the company is. I paid my fees to ship my packages, and I wanted to put extra insurance on the box that held my 32-inch screen TV, as it was worth alot of money.

They had no problems accepting the extra money for more insurance, and I even told them that I cushioned the box containing my TV with clothes. They told me that was fine, and proceded to accept my packages.

I received my boxes on time, but 3 of the 6 boxes was torn or damaged, and the TV was broken, as well. The frame was cracked, the cable ports in the back were pushed in, there was numerous items inside the TV, and the remote was broken in half.

I called FedEx to file a claim, and they told me to check back in 5 to 7 days. They inspected the box and brought it back, then promptly told me that my claim was denied, due to improper packaging.

I asked to appeal my claim denial, and the representative I talked to, told me that I would receive a call back very shortly. Turns out I didn't get a call back at all.

I called back the next day, and was forwarded to the claims agent who handled my case. I told her that the agents in San Diego told me everything was fine with my shipping and packaging. It didn't matter to her that no one in San Diego FedEx told me to pack it a certain way (because apparently it needed to be to file and get ANY kind of claim), and it didn't matter to them that I paid the extra money to insure it, but now was being told that I would not get the claims money OR my insurance money back.

The claims agent was very rude, and told me that I was basically out of luck. I asked to talk to her supervisor, and she told me that they would "call me back". I told her that didn't work LAST time, and that I wanted their direct phone numbers, in which she refused to give them to me.

I feel FedEx was negligent, rude, unethical, and improper in the way they handled my case. I now have a broken TV, and nothing to show for it. I will never ship with FedEx ever again.
